A super high energy dance brass band, guaranteed to get you dancing! – Manchester International Festival
A very alternative wedding band! The Brass Beats Collective is made up of 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, (or 1 trombone/ 1 saxophone), sousaphone, and drums. The band varies in size from a 4-piece to a 7-piece, depending on the event. The 7-piece includes an MC, (hosting, engaging the crowd, rapping etc).
Unlike your traditional brass band, they play dance music, including hip-hop, drum and bass, reggae, dubstep, Mariachi, Balkan, Oompah, New Orleans style and more. Some of their music is original, however, most are choice covers, including tracks by Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, Faithless, MC Hammer, Nero, Bob Marley, Mosca, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Madness, Gorillaz and Daft Punk!
Brass Beats Collective have active groups in Ipswich, London, Manchester, and Berlin, so can take bookings over a very large geographical area!
Audibly and visually thrilling! The perfect party and festival band! – Musicians’ Union
The band was formed, following a busking tour of Europe, (10 capital cities in 30 days!). Since then they have performed at countless club venues, parties, and festivals around the UK, including Creamfields, Manchester International Festival, Parklife, Beatherder, the Edinburgh Festival, 4 years in a row, playing at the E4 venue with the ‘Tom Tom Crew’, and on Stephen. K. Amos’s live stand-up comedy show, (with dancing monkeys!).
In 2010 they brought out their first, self-titled album, (formerly ‘Hot Botz Brass Band’). In July 2013, (as a bigger 6-piece band and guest MC), they released the single, ‘Tremor’, premiered at the Beatherder Festival. They released another single, ‘Free yourself’, (featuring Kathryn Pemberton), in June 2015. ‘Right Through You’, was released on New Years Day, 2021, and they plan to release an exciting new album in Winter 2025.
Brass Beats Collective were shortlisted for BBC Radio 1’s live lounge competition 2021, and have had tracks broadcast on many radio stations worldwide.
Please note: The Brass Beats Collective can perform all acoustically, (no electricity needed!), for small to medium venues. Larger venues will require power sockets and a sound system, (to be discussed when booking). Shelter will be needed, if performing outside, to protect performers and their instruments from the elements.
